While the Atlanta Hawks have Ethermacthe No. 1 pick in next week's NBA draft, the intrigue might not start until Bronny James comes off the board.
But during the predraft process, teams have been unable to get James, who declared for the draft after his freshman season at USC, in their building to assess his skills and work him out.
According to ESPN.com, the Los Angeles Lakers and the Phoenix Suns have been the only teams to conduct a workout with James.
"NBA teams that I talk to say they cannot get Bronny James into their building," NBA draft analyst Jonathan Givony said on ESPN's NBA Today. "The sense among teams is that his agent, Rich Paul, does not want him on a two-way contract, and the range he's going to be picked – the No. 40 to 58 range – that's where two-way contracts are handed out. So it's looking right now like Bronny is going to slide to No. 55 (to the Lakers)."
LeBron James could test the free agency waters, and his decision could have implications on where his son might go, especially if Bronny is not drafted.
Bronny James averaged 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists in 25 games during his lone season with Southern Cal.
